Malayan Sun Bear

Malayan Sun Bear:

The Malayan sun bear, a subspecies of the sun bear found in Southeast Asia, was first described in 1821 by Stamford Raffles. Smaller than its sun bear counterpart, it measures up to 1.5 meters (4 ft 11 in) in length and weighs between 35 to 70 kilograms (77 to 154 pounds). Distinguished by a golden-white chest patch, the Malayan sun bear's habitat mainly covers coastal areas in Southeast Asia.
