Black-Crowned Night Heron:
The Black-crowned Night Heron is a medium-sized wading bird found in wetlands across much of the world. Recognizable by its stocky build, black crown, and back, along with gray wings and a white or light gray underside, it is most active during the early morning and late evening, which is when it typically hunts for fish, insects, and other aquatic prey. Unlike other herons, it has a more compact appearance and tends to crouch rather than stand tall. Black-crowned Night Herons are social birds, often nesting in colonies, and they can be found near lakes, rivers, marshes, and coastal regions.
