Green Sea Turtles lives start off with challenges. Upon hatching they need to dig their way out of the nest and across the beach to the ocean. Along the way, they are prime target for several predators. Even once they make it to the ocean, a very small percentage will survive until adulthood, making conservation efforts even more important.
